Kevin Whyms is an Irish composer, producer, and multi‑instrumentalist known for creating bespoke music for film, television, games, and advertising. For more than two decades, he has refined a signature style that blends organic instrumentation with the power of modern synthesis, crafting sound worlds that are both immersive and emotionally resonant.

His portfolio includes music for Disney Interactive, Netflix, PBS, BBC, Virgin Media, RTÉ, and Jameson International. By combining guitar, clarinet, orchestral and choral writing with analogue and digital synthesis, sampling, and contemporary production techniques, Kevin shapes distinctive sonic palettes designed to elevate narrative and visual storytelling.

Kevin thrives on close collaboration with directors, editors, and creatives, ensuring that each project receives music sculpted with intention, energy, and meticulous detail from the very first note. Recent credits include the critically acclaimed feature film Here Are The Young Men starring Anya Taylor‑Joy, as well as the documentary series The UnTeachables and John Connor Acting Academy. In 2019, he performed his work at Carnegie Hall with The Choral Scholars of UCD.

In 2025, Kevin was one of just twelve composers selected worldwide for the Vancouver International Film Festival’s Composer Accelerator Programme.

A dedicated advocate for his field, Kevin is a founding member of the Screen Composers Guild of Ireland and serves as Chairman of its board. He is also a represented composer at the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland.
